😂 Far Too Funny List
📺 Watching - One of my first ever stand-up gigs in London in 2019 was at the Rising Star Comedy Club at the Old Crown in Holborn. That night there was a terrific comedian called Paddy Young who has since gone on to do brilliant things such as being nominated for best newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe. Well, Paddy’s special Hungry. Horny. Scared. is now on YouTube. He’s so natural and funny on stage and he’s got some really good bits. I particularly liked the joke about the Lenovo laptop!
🎧 Listening - Comedian Seann Walsh has a brilliant new podcast called Class Clown where he chats to the boldest rule-breakers in entertainment to uncover wild tales of childhood chaos and the personal battles that shaped them. I’ve just listened to the Class Clown episode with Max Fosh. It was fascinating to hear that even though Max built his audience on YouTube he still did open-mic nights! Really interesting conversation and lots of fun.
📕 Reading - Rolling Stone UK has put together Edinburgh Fringe 2025: 12 rising stars of comedy to see. And it was pretty cool to see 3 acts who I have previously performed with in this list in Shalaka Kurup, Roger O’Sullivan and Hasan Al-Habib. I’m excited to head up to the Fringe for the first time next month so will plan to check out their shows!

“Far Too Funny List” is a collation of content that Richard Parr finds hilarious or valuable as a comedian. Richard is the MC of Too Far Comedy. It’s a new act, new material night at The Artillery Arms in Old Street, London starting at 7.30pm. This weekly newsletter also gives acts priority access to spots to perform when they become available.
Thanks for highlighting Paddy Young's work, I recognise him, but I ought to be more familiar. I've interviewed Shalaka, and she's great. I'm glad she's getting the recognition she deserves.
