Hello!
If you’re American, Happy Thanksgiving. If you are not, Happy Black Friday Eve.
We’re running two more shows at Too Far Comedy before we take a well deserved Christmas break.
Join us from 7.15pm this Monday at the Artillery Arms.
😂 Far Too Funny List
📺 Watching - The Hot Breath video Pete Lee’s Joke Diagram explains why it’s important to get the audience to be emotionally invested in your joke and story telling.
🎧 Listening - I listened to Jokes with Mark Simmons for the first time. His guest was comedian Olaf Falafel who explains the difference between his normal stand-up show and his kids show. He also pointed out how he notes down potential punchlines and then works out the set up afterwards.
📕 Reading - Comedy critic Bruce Dessau’s Substack has an article called How To Win The Edinburgh Comedy Award For Best Show. Although, as he mentions in the subtitle, it’s more an 'Alternative Comedy Awards List'. Basically, it’s a round up of some of the best comedians and shows at Edinburgh this past summer that didn’t get nominated for awards.
