Hello from Qatar!
I’m over in the Middle East doing some wrestling ring announcing for QPW Superslam III. Lots of legends and big names involved.
I’ve been working with QPW since they started back in 2013 when the event was held in a circus tent!
Don’t worry I will be back in time for Too Far Comedy this Monday. There was a great atmosphere at the Artillery Arms this week. Join us on February 24, doors open at 7.15pm.
Thanks to everyone who applied to perform with us in March and April. All spots have now been allocated. Apologies if you didn’t get a spot on this occasion, we were inundated. The form for May and June will come out in a future newsletter in due course.
😂 Far Too Funny List
📺 Watching - Having recently really enjoyed Nate Bargatze’s new special Your friend, Nate Bargatze; I decided to watch his first Netflix hour The Tennessee Kid. While I preferred his new one, I found the final punchline of his Starbucks routine very funny!
🎧 Listening - There is a brilliant Audible series with Keegan-Michael Key called The History of Sketch Comedy: A Journey Through the Art and Craft of Humor. The Key and Peele star is entertaining throughout and takes us from Ancient Greece to Saturday Night Live and all that’s in between. For anyone interested in creating sketches this is definitely worth a listen.
If you don’t have Audible, you can try it here for free for 30 days.
📕 Reading - After Peter Kay recently kicked out two people from his audience, BBC Culture has an article called: 'There's a line': Comedians on whether Peter Kay was right to throw out hecklers. What do you think? Should he have thrown them out or not?
