Hello!
As you receive this message I’m on my way to the airport. Not only am I heading to the Edinburgh Fringe for the first time but it’s also my first flight with my 11-week old son! Please have me in your thoughts. It could be a VERY LONG 1-hour flight.
I’ll be at the Fringe until Sunday. So please drop me a message if you have a show you think I must see!
Don’t worry, I will be back in time to MC Too Far Comedy on Monday. We’ve got a cracking line up. Doors open from 7.15pm at the Artillery Arms.
Thanks to everyone who applied to perform with us in September and October. We’re now fully booked. Apologies if you haven’t got a spot this time around.
😂 Far Too Funny List
📺 Watching - As a new dad there’s quite a lot I can relate to in the new special from American Yannis Pappas: Property Owner. Some of the content in this 45-minute show is provocative, some of it is very clever and a lot of it is very funny
🎧 Listening - There’s a terrific conversation with Bob Odenkirk in Mike Birbiglia’s Working It Out podcast. You might remember I recommended Odenkirk’s book Comedy, Comedy, Comedy, Drama a while ago in this newsletter. Well in this interview he reveals what he left out of the manuscript! It’s a fascinating chat with someone who has achieved so much in comedy, as well as on the stage and screen.
📕 Reading - Want to perform or watch comedy outside of London? How about Berlin or Barcelona? Well according to The New York Times, English-Language Stand-Up Is Taking Off in Europe. No Joke.
