Hello!
Happy New Year! I wish you all a hilarious 2024!
I personally can’t wait to be back on stage soon telling some NEW jokes after a few weeks off! Let’s hope they are funny… Too Far Comedy will return at the Artillery Arms on 22 January 2024!
This week’s Far Too Funny List wraps up our series of celebrating the best recommendations I made to you last year. Here’s the top 5 list of things to read.
Enjoy!

4. 📕 Finding Your Comic Genius: An in-depth guide to the art of stand-up comedy by Adam Bloom
Adam has been performing for nearly 30 years and is considered one of the best comedy writers in the business. He’s now sharing everything he’s learned in his book: Finding Your Comic Genius: An in-depth guide to the art of stand-up comedy. It is the best book on comedy writing I have EVER read!
3. 📕 The 10 best jokes from the Edinburgh festival 2023
According to the Guardian these are this year’s ten best jokes from the Edinburgh Festival. What’s your favourite? Let me know in the comments below. I like Richard Stott’s joke.
2. 📕 The 7 deadly cringes of stand-up comedy
As many of you probably realise, the Far Too Funny List is hosted on Substack and I have found a brilliant page called The Authentic Comedian who shares advice on performing Stand Up. Her list of The 7 deadly cringes of stand-up comedy is excellent.
1. 📕 How John Mulaney Became the Best Joke Writer of a Generation
This interview by Vulture is a great short read. Mulaney explains what he did differently to a joke after he was continually bombing at a small club. It’s the story of how he got his joke about $100 million movies to work.
