Hello!
Hope you are having a great week.
There is so much hype about the Edinburgh Fringe starting next week but I can confirm Too Far Comedy will still be running in August.
So if you’re staying in the capital, come along to one of our shows!
We will of course be back next Monday with another brilliant line-up of stand-up comedians.
Doors open from 7.15pm at the Artillery Arms.
😂 Far Too Funny List
📺 Watching - The boys at Have a Word have a clip on YouTube called Jimmy Carr’s Edinburgh Fringe Advice. While he mentions he first performed in Edinburgh with Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Robin Ince it doesn’t have too much specific Edinburgh advice. However, it does have some really interesting information on the different levels of the UK comedy circuit and he explains the type of rooms he now likes to play and why. He also reveals his touring strategy.
🎧 Listening - I’ve shared before a clip of the Seth Meyers segment Day Drinking. Well the Last Laugh podcast has a terrific interview with one of the writers behind it Jenny Hagel. Along with talking about working with Seth - and Hilary Clinton! - Hagel explains what is needed to be successful at unscripted comedy. It’s a really good conversation and a terrific insight into the world of being a late night show comedy writer.
📕 Reading - David Zucker has the ultimate Edinburgh Fringe Guide 2025: The Shows I Think Deserve a Combination of Your Time/Attention/$$$ at the Edinburgh Fringe. This article dropped into my inbox from David’s substack and the level of detail blew me away! As David says: “It’s partly stock-picking, partly a crapshoot, and a whole lot of seeing a show on a whim because you overheard someone raving about it in the adjacent urinal stall.” Who will you see?
🏴Edinburgh Bound
I am actually making my first trip to the Fringe between 14-17th August. I’m mainly going just to check it out but I do have a few spots booked to perform and would love to jump on some more.
So if you are running a compilation show or you have any leads on where I might get a spot please drop me a message.
Also, if you have a show in Edinburgh this summer and have performed at Too Far Comedy before, please let me know about your show. I’d love to share it in next week’s newsletter!
🎤 Where you can see me perform
Too Far Comedy - Monday 28 July | 7.15pm doors
The OM Comedy Club - Sunday 27 July | 5.30pm doors
If you want to book me for one of your comedy nights please email me.
That’s it for now. Hope to see you soon!
