Hello!
Hope you are having a great week! I was away in the Somerset countryside this weekend for a little Babymoon.
I was then back gigging this week. I tried out two new routines. One is shaping up quite nicely. The other I was VERY excited about, only for it to die on its backside, twice! Well you live and learn!
Too Far Comedy will be back on Monday. You know the drill. Doors open at the Artillery Arms at 7.15pm.
š Far Too Funny List
šŗ Watching - Australian comedian Reuben Solo brought out a new special on YouTube on April Fools, of all days, called Please Clap. Itās a very funny, unique show. If you like your Meta Comedy this one is for you. The show has a brilliant use of sound and lights throughout.
š§ Listening - I may have just listened to one of my favourite ever specials on Apple Music. John Mulaneyās 2009 album Top Part. Itās on Spotify too. Heās incredible at telling stories that are vivid and that escalate to hilarious crescendos. There are three or four routines that I have been listening to on repeat. If you listen to just one, it has to be The Salt and Pepper Diner. Itās fantastic. Iām now really trying to incorporate this style when I sit down to write. Letās see what happens thereā¦
š Reading - I donāt think Iām a very nostalgic person. Iām not one of those people who are like āLife was better in the 90s! Urgh!ā However. Josh Widdicombe has a sensational book called Watching Neighbours Twice a Day...: How ā90s TV (Almost) Prepared Me For Life. As a boy who loved watching Gladiators, Euro 96 and of course Neighbours (I have been to Ramsey Street and met Karl Kennedy), this is a terrific walk down memory lane. And because itās Josh Widdicombe itās very funny too!
