😂 Far Too Funny List
📺 Watching - CBS Sunday Morning in the United States have released an extended interview with comedian John Mulaney. He reveals to correspondent Tracy Smith about his earliest experience writing jokes, how he developed his on-stage persona (including why he wears a suit) and why he’s happiest writing jokes for others.
🎧 Listening - Paul Rudd on the SmartLess podcast - don’t worry, this isn’t another SmartLess recommendation - told a great story of how he first became penpals with comedy movie producer Judd Apatow due to their love of Steve Martin. One of the specials that gets mentioned is his 1978 Grammy Award winner for Best Comedy Album, Let’s Get Small by Steve Martin (Spotify). So this is what I’ve been listening to this week. And would you believe this was his debut album!
📕 Reading - Loz Dodd has performed regularly at Too Far Comedy over the last couple of years, so I was delighted to read a terrific review of his Work in Progress show at the Brighton Fringe. Polly Bishop in The Reviews Hub writes that Loz Dodd: This Can’t Be It? “may just be one of the funniest things you see this Fringe.” She also said: “This is clowning at its simplest form, Mr. Bean for the modern age.” The show runs until 24 May at Presuming Ed’s, so you still have time to catch it if you are down in my home town!
