Hello!
Happy Halloween, if that’s your jam!
We had a Halloween Spook-tacular on Monday, not that we warned any of the acts beforehand! But we made the room spooky and handed out American candy at the end. It certainly was a fun evening in a packed room!
Too Far Comedy returns this Monday from 7.15pm at the Artillery Arms!
😂 Far Too Funny List
📺 Watching - King Gong at The Comedy Store is one of the most notorious gong shows in the country. About 30 people get the chance to perform up to 5 minutes of material but if the three audience members who have been given cards raise them then the act is gonged off! The show is once a month on a Monday but it’s also live streamed on their Facebook page. So after Too Far Comedy, I’ll watch the gong show, often seeing familiar faces from the open mic circuit having a go! This week the crowd were very rowdy!
🎧 Listening - It’s been a while since I listened to a Comedian’s Comedian podcast. But you might remember I went to see Josh Pugh live in Leicester Square a few months ago. Well he’s been a recent guest on the Com Com pod and it’s a brilliant conversation with Stu Goldsmith. I particularly enjoyed listening to them talk about creating premises and how Josh produces his viral videos.
📕 Reading - Performing stand-up comedy is a rollercoaster. I was on a run of four really good gigs, but I knew it was coming, and yes the next gig I absolutely died on my backside. There’s some nice advice though in this British Comedy Guide article by Ben Wearmouth called finding the right path.
