Hello!
So that’s it for another year of Too Far Comedy. We ended 2024 on a high with our Christmas Extravaganza.
Thank you to everyone who has performed with us over the last 12 months and thank you to all the staff at the Artillery Arms.
An extra special shout out to Abhi Wagle, Tom Dell, Stacey Edwards, Lauren Emina-Bougaard, Toni Divic and Kristian Allman who helped make every Monday run smoothly and entertained us with their sets.
We’ll be back nest year. The form to apply for spots will be in next week’s newsletter. Do not miss out!
😂 Far Too Funny List
📺 Watching - Anthony Jeselnik: Bones and All on Netflix is dark, outrageous but very, very funny. He attacks a lot of topics you see many comedians try to tackle on the open mic circuit but more often than not fail. It’s a masterclass in writing punchlines that will not only shock you but make you laugh. It’s not for the faint of heart but I think it’s a must watch.
🎧 Listening - When I did my first ever comedy course in 2018, I did some research at a local comedy night in Brighton and one of the acts was called Winter Foenander. 6 years later and I’m listening to his podcast: The Comedy Defect with his guest Cally Beaton. Cally’s story of how she went from being a TV executive to performing stand-up comedy later in life is incredible. You won’t believe who suggested she give it go!
📕 Reading - For Nikki Glaser, Comedy Is Easy. Living Is Hard is a new interview in Rolling Stone. Nikki Glaser’s career has been on a rocket ship since her set in Tom Brady’s roast earlier this year. She’s been performing a 67-show theatre tour and will host the Golden Globes in 2025. Nikki is very candid about the highs and lows of being a female comedian and talks about how she turns self-loathing into material.
