Hello!
We had a fantastic time this past Monday at Too Far Comedy. Thanks to all the comedians who performed and a great audience.
We’re not running this Monday as it’s a Bank Holiday. We’ll be back for more laughs at the Artillery Arms on April 8th.
I’ve been reflecting this week on how the night has been going from strength to strength. And now you can see how the night came to fruition and how our very first show went on my YouTube channel. Check out: Starting A Comedy Night.
😂 Far Too Funny List
📺 Watching - Any Parks and Rec fans in the house? Such a great show! Those of you who have seen it will likely remember Jenny Slate’s portrayal of Mona-Lisa Saperstein, the twin sister of Jean Ralphio. This week I watched Jenny’s latest stand-up special on Amazon Prime called Seasoned Professional. Very funny, very silly. Her on-stage persona has a few similarities and quirks to Mona-Lisa. Well worth a watch.
If you don’t have Amazon Prime, you can get a free 30-day trial here.
🎧 Listening - I have been enjoying Russell Howard’s podcast Wonderbox. Having previously mentioned listening to the episode with John Oliver, I have since enjoyed the chat with Jimmy Carr. Russell and Jimmy came up in comedy together so their conversation is very easy-going and very funny.
📕 Reading - I’ve never done one of the big London gong shows. It’s one of my goals for 2024. So this week I read an old article on Chortle called How to beat the gong. Have you done a gong show? Do you agree with these tips? Let me know in the comments section.
